ABOUT US
Bulurru Australia was conceived over twenty-five years ago by Sam and Anita wanting to send a souvenir gift overseas. All they could find in the market place was the proverbial key ring or the proverbial teaspoon.
Being both creative and innovative, Sam and Anita set their minds to work and came up with the idea of producing Authentic Aboriginal designs on a range of upmarket quality souvenirs.
They spent the next six months setting up licence agreements with Aboriginal Artists and Communities around the Australian continent. These licence agreements were based on paying royalties to the artists and communities for their designs. Thus developed the concept of commercialising the uniqueness of Aboriginal Art.
After spending many months in the archives of the Mitchell Library in Sydney researching Aboriginal Art and Culture, Bulurru was launched both nationally and internationally.
Attending trade shows all over the world Bulurru exposed their unique range of products including t-shirts, art panels, bags, caps, homewares etc to the world at large. Bulurru Australia was the only Australian company exhibiting at the Frankfurt International Trade Fair out of 6000 exhibitors in the 80’s.
The company’s attention to details and their desire to maintain high standards of quality Australia made where possible, have made Bulurru the leader in the Authentic Aboriginal Art market.
